Payment flow types
Hosted gateway on web
This is the most commonly used payment flow type, redirecting your customers to our payment page. This can be branded with your logo and colors. It's fast, easy-to-implement, and you'll also get country-specific payment methods by default.
Barion doesn't require you to submit any PCI DSS documentation.
Payment link
Generate a link with all payment information, and forward it to your customer. Following this link will redirect them to the hosted gateway where they can complete the payment process.
Mobile gateway
A mobile-friendly payment gateway which can be implemented within your own mobile app. You can show a webview payment page within your app, or use a fully customized native interface with our mobile SDK.
Third-party integrations
Use one of the many plugins for e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce, Shopify, and Magento. You can also integrate super fast with our client and server libraries from PHP to .NET and mobile platforms.

Process
Payment types
Immediate payment
The most common payment type, in which the customer provides the payment information and it is processed instantly. Most payment methods support immediate payment, and for some, this is the only available solution.
Example: a customer orders pizza via Deliveroo.
Delayed capture
The payment amount is blocked without being immediately charged. The amount stays unavailable for both the customer and the merchant until the payment is finalized. The merchant has the right to decide whether to finalize or cancel the purchase. Delayed capture is currently only available when paying with a credit card.
Example: A customer orders groceries via Tesco, but some of the items get changed in the final order. Even though a certain amount was blocked, the eventual amount charged is in accordance with the final order.
Reservation
The money on the seller's account is locked as a deposit, and later it can be paid back.
Example: When a customer pays a deposit for their apartmenton a realtor's website in advance.
Card-on-file payment
This helps you increase conversions: customers don't have to enter their card details every time they pay. They can select a card previously saved with the merchant, and pay with one click.
Recurring payments
A platform allows partners to gather customer payment info first, tokenize it, and then charge recurring fees without any interaction with the customers.
Example: a customer provides their credit card details to get a monthly Spotify's subscription.
Split payment
A customer makes a payment, and the merchant distributes the amount between different partners.
Example: A customer checks out, and the charged amount gets distributed between multiple merchants.
Payments for platforms
You can become a facilitator for payments. Create your own marketplace where payments are made directly to one of your partners (or multiple partners with split payments) and where commision for the payment is automatically transferred to your account.
Example: Marketplaces like Etsy.
